The Most Fascist Congressional Dems (So Far)
Edited on July 22nd, 2025 to add new primary opponents who announced after I published this.
We’re six months into the 119th Congress (1/4 of the way through their two year term), so this seems a good as time as any to call out the Democratic members of Congress who have voted yea for the most fascist bills and resolutions. To date, there have been 22 pieces of legislation that have received votes in the House that can be considered fascist:
HR 1968: Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025
HR 881: DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act
H Res 488: Denounce the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado & praise ICE (note that H Res 481 denounced the terror attack & had no language praising ICE)
HR 884: Banning Non-Citizens from Voting in Local DC Elections
HR 2056: District of Columbia Federal Immigration Compliance Act of 2025
H Res 537: Impeach Donald J. Trump (counts if voted against)
H Res 516: Condemn the Violent June 2025 Riots in Los Angeles
Now, I do want to note that I personally don’t believe that voting yea for only one of these bills is enough to earn the moniker of fascist, but I also don’t believe that should preclude someone else from making that judgement. Everyone has their own litmus for this and if one vote out of twenty-two is enough for someone to consider a politician a fascist, then I get it.
But first, let’s do a bit of good news. After 22 bits of legislation, there are 60 Democratic members of Congress who have not voted yea for a single fascist bill:

Technically, that number can go up to 61 due to Representative Gerry Connolly not voting for any fascist legislation prior to his death. Even more technically it’s 62, since Rep. Raul Grijalva didn’t vote for any fascist bills, but his ill health prior to his death meant he wasn’t actually present for any votes this session.
If you also want to count members who have only voted yea once, that adds another 54 members. So that is 28% of Dems in the House that have voted yea for none of the offending bills and 44% that have only voted yea for one or none.
Which leads us to the not good: the Democrats that have voted yea for more than a third of the fascism presented to them. It would be generally depressing to just note which Democrats are actively collaborating with the Trump admin. So, with each member of Congress I mention, I am also going to add who is currently primarying them & also the state requirements on how someone like you can run against them. I’ll supply links to primary opponent’s campaign sites (if they have one), but also remember to thoroughly vet the opponents as well. Mentioning primary opponents here is not an endorsement, just a statement that they have declared that they are running.
Finally, if you intend to run for office, keep up to date on requirements to run. Rules vary whether to are running as a Democrat, 3rd party, or independent & ballot access laws are subject to change between now and 2026.
Before we get into the top 26, I wanted to do a quick Dishonorable Mention. These are members of Congress that have flirted with disgrace off and on throughout the session, but currently don’t quite hit the voting record of absolute shaming.
Dishonorable Mentions (7 out of 22, 31.8%): Angie Craig (MN-2), Sharice Davids (KS-3), Maggie Goodlander (NH-2), Steven Horsford (NV-4), John Mannion (NY-22), Lucy McBath (GA-6), Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Pat Ryan (NY-18), Emilia Sykes (OH-13), & Derek Tran (CA-45)
